As a single mum I am and greatly touch my childminding business has nominated for two separate awards with Bizmums. New Business mum of the year award and an Exceptional Service mum of the year Award.
Bizmums is a Social Enterprise, established by Michelle Childs in November 2012, offering a community based support network for the mums in business who have felt frustrated, isolated and unsupported in their business. There are several groups running across Staffordshire, including Stone, Stafford and Newcastle.
“I am feeling so touched and overwhelmed by the comments people have made towards my nomination. I started my childminding a year ago due to struggling for flexi childcare for my own two children, due to changes to my personal situation. I never expected the need to be so high and greatly appreciated by the families who use me.”
Two families have shared their views too..
“As a family we couldn’t be anymore happier with the service we get from Stephanie, she has exceeded our expectations as a childminder, not only is she professional in her setting but also a very successful business women”
“She is very highly skilled at her job and I’m so pleased I have found her to look after Neave. She has made going back to work very easy for me….”
I do greatly appreciates her business being recognised “I don’t do my job for awards or further recognition but for the love of seeing children thrive, grow and learn. As well as being able to spend more time with my own young children”
Other reasons why I was nominated…
New Business Mum of Year
“Steph has taken Stone by storm. I noticed her on the playground a few months ago taking a child to school. In the months that have followed numbers have grown and so has her confidence.”
“She is an amazing, caring, selfless person and seeing both her own and her minded children happy is all she wants. She spends hours working on healthy activities for the kids where a lot of people would be happy to sit the kids down in front of the TV, Steph is constantly looking for new ways to get the children moving, healthy, happy and involved. She is an inspiration. As I said above her numbers have risen in the last few months. She also wears personalised clothing to advertise her business. Steph will carry on growing in numbers. I know this for a fact because of her passion for what she does.”
“She is always approachable, happy and helpful. She puts parents minds at ease and puts the children’s needs above her own. She also posts on Facebook and advertises her services. Steph really is an amazing lady and she deserved this award.”
Exceptional service mum of the year….
“Stephanie has started up her own business in childminding due to changes in her personal circumstances, she researched and through her own knowledge of working in nursery’s, understood that there was a need for top quality childcare very early morning, school run, late evenings and over night and most of all flexibility for working parents.”
“Stephanie has a creative mind and engages the children in a multitude of activities to stimulate all their senses, provides challenging but fun activities, as well as developing their social skills and a responsible attitude. She works with Ofsted and the parents to support the child in their development. Building up her business as well as looking after her own children has thrown up some challenges, which Stephanie has faced head on, she was determined to get her business off the ground and now has a thriving business.”
“She engages with the parents and has put their needs and the children’s before her own, the flexibility that she provides means the parent can totally rely on her. No job is to small, last minute changes are catered for, the needs of the parents and children are paramount to Stephanie. She has a strong community spirit and is engages in a variety of groups and despairs when child facilities close. Despite having little time to herself she has once again come up with an initiative with a friend ‘Stone Parent and Child Group’ it lists all the toddler groups, classes etc around Stone, when they run and all the information needed to attend. A valuable one stop information place kept up to date, which can only be a valuable asset to the community and users. Stephanie has never sat on her laurels, she is an active, approachable lady who I hope gets recognition for her work.”
